About Us

Maité Duran, Founder

A woman with blonde hair, wearing a gray blazer over a white blouse, seated against a plain background.

Maité was born in Ecuador and moved to the United States as a teenager, where she attended and graduated high school and college. After a successful real estate and finance career, she returned to Ecuador to be closer to her family.

Maité (pronounced my-tay) began working for a company in Cuenca that offered relocation services and quickly became their Visa Specialist.

Recognizing the growing need for a service that not only specialized in Visas but could also deliver the customer service that Expats expect, Maité founded Gringo Visas.

She opened her Cuenca headquarters with a multi-lingual team, including legal counsel. In Quito, the Ecuadorian capital, she positioned her staff near the immigration headquarters to benefit clients. And finally, due to the increasing number of North American expats relocating to Ecuador, she opened a fully staffed office in Danbury, Connecticut.

Since 2010, she has successfully processed all types of Visas and legal documents for thousands of Expats worldwide.
